By using this website you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions. This document is designed to clarify various responsibilities of community members. Please read it and become familiar with it as its terms are retroactive and agreed upon by all community members.

Customer Support The EDS Wiki is not a forum for customer support. The community is provided to facilitate member-to-member sharing, collaboration, and discussion. For EBSCO Customer Support, visit the EBSCO Support Site at http://support.ebsco.com.

Member Guidelines

  1. Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
  2. Members should remember this site is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated. Members who violate this rule will immediately be banned from the site.
  3. Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and their post will be removed.
  4. Members are asked only to post in English, as this is an English speaking community. Localised support is available on the EBSCO Support Site International Resources Page at http://support.ebsco.com/training/resources.php.
  5. Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites. The use of image links pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed.
  6. Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently abusing this will be warned.
  7. Members should use an appropriate, descriptive subject when posting a new topic. Examples of bad subjects include; "Help me!", "I'm stuck!", "I've got an error!", etc. Examples of good subjects include; "Getting a TABLE FULL error upon login", "Cannot restore a backup", etc.
  8. Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. This includes offering hosting services (charged and free), installation services, solicitation etc. Recruiting members for your own projects (moderators, designers, professional MOD work, etc.) is not permitted and is also considered spam. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed.
  9. EBSCO reserves the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to EBSCO and not users.
  10. The above guidelines where applicable also apply to messaging. Abuse of the messaging system may lead to warnings (as above) and/or the revocation of membership.

User Pages

  1. The EDS Wiki allows each member to have a user page. Your user page is for information about you, your institution, or your EBSCO Discovery Service experience. Think of this page as an area to help others understand whom they’re working with. Include your contact information, picture, and any other information you would like to share with other members.
  2. The EDS Wiki is not a personal storage area. Generally, you should avoid content that is not related to EBSCO Discovery Service, your institution, or experience. Avoid too much public information, as weall as discussions, posts, activities, or opinions unrelated to EDS.
  3. Remember that pages in the user space still belong to the community. In general, it is considered polite to not make changes to another's user page without their permission. Libel or personal attacks in the user space will not be tolerated.

Ownership of Content EBSCO does not claim ownership of your content. However, by posting, you grant EBSCO a worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform and publicly display your content (in whole or in part) and to incorporate your content into other materials or works in any format or medium now known or later developed.
